Transformers: The Game is the name of several video game versions based on the 2007 live action film Transformers, all of which were released in North America in June 2007. The home console and PC versions were developed by Traveler Tales for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3 and PC. A different version of the PlayStation Portable was developed by Savage Entertainment. Transformers Autobots and Decepticons Transformers are Nintendo DS versions of Transformers: The Game. The Visions representative, who was in charge of bringing the adaptation to the Nintendo DS, chose to adapt the DS version into two separate games. The Autobots follow perspective while the Decepticons follow the villains' heroes. Unlike games with multiple SKUs like Pokémon which feature only minor differences between versions, these are two separate games, sharing some basic similarities, but with unique characters, missions and locations.
All robots have at least five types of attacks: light weapons, heavy weapons, melee attacks, and the ability to throw objects such as cars, lampposts, trees, etc., and use long objects such as lampposts as swords. As the title and characters imply, robots can transform into vehicles and vice versa, this gives the game some racing elements, as the player must, in some missions, race to a certain point within the time limit or before the character from the opposing faction does. Each area of the world environment is open, and there are also side-missions, Energon cubes and the Autobot/Decepticon emblem scattered through the city, if done successfully/collected the player can unlock trailers, production photos and unlock color schemes for certain characters.
